Hello!
I’m continuing the Riffing on Eternity series with this next quote from my notes, “philosophy is not a conceptual process.” At university I was taught that philosophy is all conceptual. Not so. It is the process of the soul’s true education.
But, dear friends and lovers of wisdom, before we get to that, I want to share with you some photos from around our place.
My current favourite is this magical unplanned image from inside the cabin! The reflection brings all the outdoors inside, and the blue light is James’ flashlight as he comes up the path.
And now… the next installment of my ongoing Riffing on Eternity series, where I used short quotes from my notes on Platonism as writing prompts, then illustrated using AI from Canva.
I’m back to sending more frequently again, and I really appreciate you taking the time to read, share and comment. As always, special thanks to you dear supporters whose paid subscriptions support my work.

This is beautiful, thank you. Yes, I see the face in the stone. Thank you again.
I see two faces, one in profile and one looking straight out. Philosophy, I agree, is not all conceptual through the senses, but certainly goes deeper and beyond.*** Romaric Jannel has some great insights into the Japanese philosophers. He is on substack too.
