What did I do on my summer vacation? Sneaky old summertime took me on an inadvertent vacation from all things Substack for weeks now. I was still thinking of posts of course, saving ideas and pix. And thinking of all you dear readers: hoping you, too, were in the throes of summer and able to overlook my truancy. I imagine you just moving your sunglasses down your nose a skitch, peering over the frame for an instant before going back to that summer novel and the one paragraph you read over and over again. Or checking your phone with relief, “Oh good, nothing!”
